The Amazon Expeditions lodge is called “Palo Verde Lodge” (Green Branch Lodge). The name “Palo Verde” comes from the Capirona Tree who’s trunk and branches are smooth and are a rich, dark green color. Capirona’s grow throughout the area of the Yanayacu River where our lodge is located and all around the lodge itself.
The Yanayacu River, a small tributary of the Amazon River, is approximately 50 miles (110Km) south of Iquitos, PerĂº, the largest city in the PerĂºvian jungle. Our eco-lodge consists of ten interconnected bungalows, a dining room, a lounge area and the kitchen.

Each bungalow has screened windows and wood panel ceilings that protect against the elements and mosquitoes.
